The Whirlpool Galaxy

Constellation: Canes Venatici.
Best Seen: Spring.
Telescopic Appearance: This object is really two separate galaxies which are interacting. Both galaxies are visible as fuzzy 'spots' through the SCT. The 'bridge' connecting them is far more difficult to see.
Photo Details: An hour long shot on hypered Kodak Tech Pan film, combined with a two hour exposure on unhypered Kodak Pro Gold 400 print film. Both taken through the 11" SCT at f/10. Thanks to Terry Adrian for the additional processing.
